Motorcycle Tours Cyprus
Welcome to Peter’s
Bike Adventure in Cyprus
Welcome to a full round of the sun-drenched isle of Cyprus, with its ancient culture. This motorcycle tour is suitable for riders with some experience. Who love being out in largely pristine nature. Our starting point will be the unspoiled Chrysochou Bay near Polis. We’re going to use it as our base for three one-day rides. Plus a three-day tour through the forested mountains of Troodos and to Nicosia. Winding our way up and down the mountains, the narrow roads and tracks will then take us back to Polis. And to wrap things up, we’ve got a day of off-road riding at its finest on the
Akamas Peninsula.
We scheduled this seven-day enduro tour for spring and autumn, the best times of year in Cyprus. We’ll go for long stretches with hardly any traffic, weaving our way up lonely roads through the mountains that’ll put grins on the faces of even the most discerning cruisers. We’re not going to neglect the cultural sides of the island, either, delving into the history of Cyprus, getting to know its village life and exploring the urban vibe of the divided capital, Nicosia.
The tour is an easy ride that becomes a bit more demanding as we go along. Due to the small share of unpaved stretches, we can recommend this tour to virtually any rider, but some enduro experience will give you a bit of an advantage. We’ll be riding 250cc Honda enduros.
I’m putting the route together with my old biker friend Hans. A Dutchman who’s been living in Cyprus for more than 40 years, Hans knows every track and twisty mountain road like the back of his hand.
A trip down memory lane: Peter and Hans back in the day, in the 80s – and today
We’ve selected a good two-star hotel for you:
It’s located directly by the sea and is owned and managed by a friendly family. The hotel has a good restaurant with a terrace right on the beach, a pool, a tennis court and rooms with sea views. It’s 400 meters to the port of Latchi and four km to the village of Polis. Single rooms with a sea view are available for all on request.
We’ll spend a total of five nights there and two nights in a small hotel run by my friend Garry in the picturesque mountain village of Spilia.
I’ve already reserved eight Honda 250cc enduros, the best rental bikes in the region. We know the bikes and the rental companies well. As we know from experience, only two of the five local motorcycle rental companies are really professional. We’ve selected those two as our partners.
Bike Hire Cyprus
Jianis, Anthula and Bev from Petrides Rentals will be providing the bikes.
We’re aiming to have the bikes ready at the hotel or in Polis, but we might also pick up them up in Paphos on our way from Larnaka Airport to Polis – so you could already be in the saddle for the last 30 km of the transfer while we transport your luggage to the hotel. Or, we’ll pick up the bikes the next morning. We’ll choose the best option on the day.
We have at least six one-week tours lined up for 2021:
Sun. April 18 − Sun. April 25, 2021
Sun. April 25 – Sun. May 2, 2021

7 Day Motorcycle Tour Prices:

Due to the current pandemic situation, both contractual partners may cancel free of charge up to four weeks before the start of the tour; participants may cancel up to seven days before the start of the tour.
An escort vehicle and a mechanic will be accompanying us on the three-day mountain tour.
Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Swiss, and possibly Condor, Easy Jet, Eurowings, Transavia and Wiz Air offer direct flights to Paphos and Larnaka from various European airports for around EUR 200-500. It’s best if you take care of the flight tickets yourself, but I can give you a hand if you like. Booking a flight to Paphos instead of Larnaka would shorten the transfers quite a bit. From Larnaka it takes a good three hours, for almost 200 km mainly on the highway.
If you’re ready to book, please send me a recent ID picture and a copy of your ID card or passport. I’ll confirm as soon as I receive your EUR 500 deposit on my bank account in Cyprus.
Of course, you can also add a few days before or after the tour to relax, hike, bike and hang out at the beach on your own. We highly recommend it – Cyprus is a blast! I can give you tips and help you organize your accommodation, vehicles, program etc.
HIKING IN THE AKAMAS NATURE RESERVE
The Akamas peninsula, named after a hero in Greek mythology, is ecologically extremely valuable and at the same time culturally significant. Its interior is rugged and wild, with remote bays and crystal-clear water along the coast. The vegetation and wildlife are also remarkable: sea turtles nest on the beaches, and around 500 plant species – of which more than 30 are endemic – have been documented. The peninsula is particularly beautiful in winter and spring, when it is covered by a green carpet and numerous wildflowers blossom
And last but not least, the area is steeped in mythology: legend has it that Aphrodite had her way with Adonis in a rock pool on the north coast.
Our partner Manuel, who organizes excellent day tours for us, is the best German-Cypriot hiking guide. For more info, just drop us a line.
